East Tennessee Professional Development Conference and Training March 28, 2014

 

The East Tennessee Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers presents a professional development conference from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. March 28 at Rothchild’s Conference Center.

This is the date for the East Tennessee Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineer’s Professional Development Conference (PDC) and Training session.. As usual we have an outstanding event planned for you-a full day of professional presenters speaking on a variety of topics, Breakfast, Lunch and Ice Cream Social, a variety of vendors displaying the latest safety equipment and technology and door prizes throughout the day. Attendees will also receive a certification for eight hours of attendance from the East Tennessee Chapter of ASSE. All you need to do to get registered is download the form, mail it to the address below with your payment. The agenda for this year’s slate of speakers and topics are:

 

Keynote speaker: Steve Hawkins Administrator for the TOSHA division of the Tennessee Department of Labor & Workforce Development. Mr. Hawkins will speak on the current state of Occupational Safety regulations at the state level and the impending legislative appropriations from the Obama Administration.

Dana J. Peterka: As a Service Core Of Retired Executives (SCORE) volunteer Mr. Peterka has counseled over 300 small businesses and conducting a variety of workshops and seminars for area businesses. In his session he will coach and instruct participants on the techniques of developing efficient time management and organization skills.

David Kirby, CIH, CSP: With a touch of humor Mr. Kirby will give an overview of Industrial Hygiene 101 basics and when a professional Industrial Hygienist should be consulted.

Tom Christman, CSP: This session will discuss fire protection topics that all Safety Professionals should be aware of and where it may be prudent to seek further guidance from someone with specific technical knowledge on the individual subject area.

Susan Ridgell, Ph.D. Senior Consultant, Impact Associates, Inc.: Dr. Ridgell will discuss strategies for interacting with difficult personalities, defusing conflict and the dynamics of organizational culture change.

 

Included in the full day of training will be breakfast, lunch and an ice cream social consisting of:
